the pox is upon us...

smallfry
2 is down with chickenpox
smallfry1 will surely fall soon...

the sum total of the mite's dietary requirements of the past three days...

...toast in the shape of Nice Things

...covered with bonne maman strawberry jam

(I prefer the blackcurrant myself, but there is no accounting for taste, especially when pox ridden I suppose)

...and strawberry jelly

One of the reasons I quite like to make jelly is these beautiful vintage moulds - one of Ms Reva's best birthday gifts of last year, from Maaya, doyenne of the car boot sale....we have one really large rabbit mould too, makes enough jelly for at least 6 ravenous jelly-fiends

I took the opportunity while having an unexpected couple of days home from the office on pox-watch to photograph some china bowls I scored down in the oxfam shop recently, pretty huh?

and to play with the focus/depth of field (is that what you call it?) stuff on my camera...I'd quite like to paint this...

Horrendous pox - hope it's not too awful and passes quickly. But at least there's jelly - love that rabbit.

Hope they don't get too itchy and they make a quick recovery

Poor you! Hope the children are okay. My two had the pox last year - luckily they weren't too bad after the piriton and calamine treatment.
Lovely jelly moulds!

we have suspected pox here too, my older one - for the second time (even though the drs think it's unlikely - they can give no other reason for the blistery spots all over her)! Hope your babes get better soon, its miserable.

Tisserand do a Lavendar gel that is amazing for calming the skin once into the red itchy bit - calamine made mine race round the house screaming with fear as it was too 'COLD and just YUCKY'! Good luck...and enjoy your few days off. x

Oh no, hope your babes aren't too itchy, and it isn't too awful for them. We think we may still have it to come, at the beginning of the year almost every child at nursery had it bar my O! Your molds are fabulous, jelly rabbits and heartshaped toast would certainly cheer me up!

yukky pox - but it does mean you can skive off work!!!!
I hate jelly (totally hate it - the repulsion is that strong!!!) but I do like to look at it in pretty shapes, and wobble it about.

Oh no to chickenpox.
But it definitely is going to be a couple of weeks of Nice Things, definitely.
